Amanda Montico

Human Resources Assistant

What’s your professional background/summary?

I started working at Canadian Tire at 15 years old in a customer service role, where I was able to provide assistance to all customers. I worked there until I was 22 as I completed my undergrad. It is because of this experience early on that I wanted to choose a career that would further my ability to assist others. This is why I chose Human Resources as my area of study. Since completing school I have had the opportunity to work with CareHop where I am able to put my learnings into everyday practice.

Why did you decide to join CareHop?

CareHop offered a position which would allow me to use my previous experience and school learnings in a role where I could provide support to valuable clients and employees. As someone who has a grandmother suffering from Dementia, I now work for a company that strives to provide care for those in need, just like my own grandmother.

What brings sunshine to you?

The thing that brings sunshine to me the most is my family and friends. To be able to spend time around people where I can truly be myself and bring happiness to others, also brings happiness to me in return which is a win-win.

What is the one thing that most people don’t know about you?

One thing that most people don’t know about me is that I come from an Italian background, however, I despise tomatoes!

What’s your favourite vacation place?

My favourite vacation place is simply the cottage in the summer. This is a place where I can spend quality time with my family, relax, and enjoy the beach and surrounding views. There is nothing more calming than this for me.

How has a senior impacted your life?

Growing up I spent most of my days and nights at my grandparents. They watched me grow into the woman I have become today, have shown me unconditional love and taught me respect. It is because of them that I enjoy giving kindness and joy back to others.

Anything else would you like to add?

CareHop has introduced me to so many wonderful people and I could not be more thankful.
